Privacy
Your numbers never leave your browser.
What we collect, what we do not, and how to exercise your rights under the CCPA and GDPR. The calculations run on your device — we could not sell your figures if we wanted to.
The short version
We do not require an account. We never ask for your phone number. We do not operate a lead-generation business, and we do not sell personal information to attorneys, marketers, or anyone else.
We do use two third-party analytics tools — Microsoft Clarity and Google Analytics — to see how pages are used so we can improve them. Clarity is configured to mask the text you type, so the figures you enter into the calculators are not captured; Google Analytics receives only aggregate traffic data, not the contents of the calculators. The details are in section 2.
What we collect
Calculator inputs
None. All arithmetic happens on your device in JavaScript. Your inputs are never sent to our servers. If you use the "Copy link to this result" button, your inputs are encoded into a URL that only you hold — it is not recorded by us.
Standard server logs
Our host records ordinary technical data such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested. This is used for security and to keep the site running.
Advertising cookies
We display ads through Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and other sites on the internet.
- You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
- You may opt out of third-party vendor cookies at aboutads.info.
- We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals where applicable law requires it.
Analytics
We use Microsoft Clarity, a product-analytics and heatmap tool, to understand how visitors use the site — which calculators are opened, where people scroll, and where a page confuses them — so we can improve it. Clarity is provided by Microsoft Corporation and sets cookies to recognize returning visitors and reconstruct anonymized sessions.
- Your calculator inputs are masked. Clarity is configured with text masking on, its default. The numbers you type — income, medical bills, injury dates — are replaced with placeholder characters before anything is recorded, so we never see the values you enter.
- Clarity captures general interaction data such as clicks, scrolling, page paths, approximate location by region, browser, and device type.
- Microsoft's handling of this data is governed by the Microsoft Privacy Statement.
- Because this uses cookies, you can limit it with your browser's cookie controls, and we honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals where applicable law requires it.
We also use Google Analytics 4, provided by Google LLC, for aggregate traffic reporting — how many people visit, which pages they land on, and which channels (search, direct, referral) bring them. It is configured for the “understand web traffic” objective only; we do not enable its lead-generation or conversion-tracking features, and we do not pass it anything you type into the calculators.
- Google Analytics sets cookies to distinguish visitors and measure sessions, and processes data such as pages viewed, approximate location by region, browser, and device.
- Google's handling of this data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy; Google's description of Analytics data use is here.
Neither analytics tool is used to build advertising profiles from your calculator inputs, and we do not sell any of this data. The cookie and Global Privacy Control (GPC) controls above apply to both tools. When our analytics setup changes, this section is updated and the change is dated here.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of personal information we hold, and to object to its sale or sharing. Because we do not collect calculator inputs or maintain user accounts, the personal information we hold is minimal.
California residents (CCPA/CPRA): you may request disclosure of the categories of personal information collected, request deletion, and opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information.
EU/UK residents (GDPR): you may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and object to processing based on legitimate interests.
To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@casevaluecalc.com. We will respond within the period required by applicable law — 45 days under the CCPA and 30 days under the GDPR.
